Connor's 1 Year Photo Shoot {knoxville baby photography}

In early November our little man turned a whole year old. Holy cow! Where did the time go?! I can't believe it's been a whole entire year since the little man was born. I know people always say that time flies by and babies grow up before you know it, but hearing that and experiencing it are two completely different things. Somehow it seems like Connor's been part of our family forever and yet it also feels like he was just entering our hearts and lives yesterday. Craziness.

Anyhow, to mark the special occasion and remember the little man at this huge milestone in his life, we of course had to do a little photoshoot.

Thanks to some Pinterest inspiration (is anyone else out there completely addicted like I am?!), I made a simple chalkboard sign with a piece of wood and chalkboard paint. I wrote some skills and milestones from Connor's first year on it, and displayed it at his birthday party. Every year I plan on doing that to record - in a cute way, if I do say so myself - all the little things Connor is into/has done/is doing every year. I can totally see myself looking back through the photos years from now and smiling at the memories. And probably crying. Yep, that too.

Chalkboards are a simple and fun way to add some creativity and uniqueness to any photoshoot. I think they're a great prop, and you can even use them after the shoot, as well! (I plan on hanging ours in our living room and making it into a kind of subway-art type thing).

In this photo Connor was copying Barley. Too cute!

Happy 1 Year, Connor. We love you and can't wait to see what this next year will bring!

The Braddy Family {knoxville family photography}

About a week ago I had the pleasure of photographing the Braddy family. The girls were adorable in their matching outfits and hair clips!

The day was beautiful - if a bit chilly - for capturing some great shots of this wonderful family.

I think every couple needs a little romance - especially when there are kids running around!

Snuggle time!

I love this - she was captivated by the leaves on the trees.

The next moment she was off. I think there's just something so innocent and carefree about a child running through a field.

Sometimes it's the candid photos that I really love, because they have a way of capturing the emotions of the moment and often people's personalities. It's the imperfect moments in life that I find frequently make me smile.

Perfectly imperfect.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to capture your beautiful family!

Pumpkin Patch {knoxville photography}

A couple weeks ago we went to the pumpkin patch with a group of other Moms and kiddos. It was Connor's first time, so of course I had to document it by taking a ridiculous amount of photos.

Apparently Connor loves pumpkins! He just sat on a haybale and checked out a pumpkin I handed him the whole time. Adorable.

The other kids we were there with were having a blast running around and checking out the hay and pretty flowers.

There was also a "corn box" for the kids to play in. Similar to a sandbox - but with corn kernels! The kiddos loved it.

And then we took a hayride to get our pumpkin. The pumpkins were scattered all around the ground underneath a pretty tree. Connor had a tough time picking out a pumpkin at first...

but after some searching, he found one!

He crawled over to it and used it to stand up and was "talking" to it (aka, babbling at it) and smiling and laughing. It was too cute!

Then it was time to head home with Connor's new pumpkin. I'd say his first time at the pumpkin patch was a success - can't wait to visit again next year.
